No more Saab

Today I said goodbye to my Saab so now I am car free for a couple of weeks.

I got a mail from the car dealer and I was happy to hear the Toyota will be delivered on December 13th and not in January 2014.

For dinner I made a nice gratin of minced beef, bacon and broccoli. All covered by cheese and some butter as side…

There was a lot of cheese (200g) so the intakes was a bit high.

    Hey Tommy,
I have a question about the Skaldeman ratio. What is this, and how is it figured?

    • Tommy says:

It is really a simple ratio to see if you eat enough fat.

      (Carbs+Proteins)/Fat = Ratio

      So an example

5g of carbs plus 95g of protein is a ratio of 1,0.
      (5+95) / 100 = 1,0

It’s not really a carb counting ratio since the assumption is that you do eat low carb.

If you need too loose a lot of weight the ratio should be around 2,0. If you are eating LCHF not primarily for weight issues a ratio at 1,0-1,5 is good.

Recently I have been under 1 quite often and thats because I have eaten a little to much proteins (and sometimes even carbs…).

My own goal is to be between 1,4 and 2,0.

Thanks, Tommy. I will give this a try.

One last thing Tommy, is a ratio of 2 equal to approximately 80% from fat?

    • Tommy says:

If you eat 80% energy from fat you should be quite high on the ratio. It’s to late to figure out if there is a “mathematical” correlation but since the ratio is based on amount rather than E% it need another “calculation” but it should be a correlation… 🙂
